A: Velocity gel is generally applied with your bare hands (or wearing latex gloves) to all the major muscle groups which you are targeting. Massage the product into the horse’s coat to allow the product to reach the dermal layer of the horse’s skin. Each horse may have specific application requirements depending on the activity being performed, or for targeted treatment of issues such as being prone to stiffness or soreness in select areas. If required for horses with longer coats, you can brush or towel off excess product 15 to 30 minutes post application.
A: One 32oz bottle contains enough Velocity for 2 to 8 applications. This varies depending on the size of the horse and coverage. Typically, the more that is applied and absorbed by the horse, the greater the effect will be on its performance and recovery.
A: The product can be applied as frequently as desired. For horses that train frequently or at high training volumes multiple applications may yield more effective results.
A: For performance benefits application should be done at least 45 minutes prior to activity. Additional recovery benefits can be achieved by applying Velocity within 30-60 minutes after activity as well.
A: You can also apply it solely to areas of concern or stress (i.e. neck or a specific leg). For performance benefits we recommend applying to the main muscle groups being used by the horse for the specific activity they are undertaking.
A: There are no substances in the product that would cause a positive test for banned substance for racing in any state in North America. We have had the product independently tested and no banned substances have been found after application.
